Sheringham Beach on the North Norfolk Coast
With its stunning coastline where the sky meets the sea you’re spoilt for choice for family friendly beaches when you visit or holiday in fabulous Norfolk.
Sheringham is a truly fabulous retreat by the sea, family friendly with lots to do for all ages. The wonderful blue flag beach at low-tide has long stretches interspersed by stones and plenty of rock pools to discover all kinds of wildlife.
Featured on our Best Beach Guide and with so many attractions, it’s no surprise that this Norfolk coastal town is a popular choice of holiday destination for many families.
A lovely seaside town with steam train rides and wonderful cafes makes a visit to Sheringham a memorable experience. Retaining a feel of an old fashioned seaside town Sheringham’s beach is easily accessible and great for families and kids.
The beach is narrow and rocky when the tide is in but at low tide it’s a large beach with a mix of sand and shingle. There are plenty of rock pools for mooching around with the kids and lots of sand for making sand castles.
There is a museum and lifeguard station and many cafes and places to eat on the seafront. Plenty to do and see, we visit often just to walk our Westie pup along the prom and have a coffee looking out to sea.
