The Hideaway is a luxurious self-catering holiday apartment overlooking the village green in the picture-perfect village of Great Massingham. Only a short drive from the glorious North Norfolk coast you will love the quirky style of this adorable property.
This luxury apartment ticks all the boxes; good local food, excellent well-stocked and charming village shop, renowned pub/restaurant serving good food and ales; and beautiful walks and cycling from the doorstep.
With a lovely stable door allowing you to let the sunshine in while you cook and a balcony just outside at the top of the oak staircase, you can enjoy supper or breakfast with a newspaper whilst relaxing on the bistro table and chairs.
The sitting room has views on three sides but mainly overlooks the village green and is perfect for a relaxing evening reading or watch the television.
When you feel tired, you can retire to the large bedroom with its King-size bed dressed in the highest quality linens.
After a busy day, run a large bath (with bubbles of course!) and sooth your muscles, or wake yourself up in the morning with the impressive monsoon shower, before deciding how to spend your day.
Great Massingham is one of Norfolk’s prettiest villages and the apartment’s outside space and small terrace at the top of the oak staircase overlooks The Church of St Mary and its grounds.
The green is a great place to also relax, head over there with a rug and good book, but remember that you may have to share your space with the large number of resident ducks and geese who have also made the village ponds their home.
Great Massingham village is part of the Norfolk’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a designated conservation area and a haven for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers.
The village itself boasts a well stocked village store/delicatessen, a renowned pub; The Dabbling Duck; and probably has one of the most impressive village greens in the county of Norfolk. Several large ponds dominate the village, some of which have their origins as the fish ponds for an 11th century Augustinian Abbey.
Head to Wells-next-the-Sea or Brancaster for a day on the beach, enjoy a visit to HM The Queens’ Sandringham Estate, Holkham Hall or Houghton.
Or of course the RSPB reserves at Titchwell or Snettisham also offer a good day out.
The nearby market town of Fakenham has a weekly market and take time to visit King’s Lynn where you can discover the maritime history of West Norfolk.
