The Experience
Offering direct access onto The Norfolk Coast Path, Marsh Retreat is part of a detached brick and chalk barn-style conversion which has been beautifully and stylishly furnished throughout.
With great walking opportunities literally from the front door, you can walk to Brancaster beach and its famous golf club in only 20 minutes and to the village shop/deli and The Ship Inn gastro pub in less than ten.
A walk down the steps and through the private gate onto the coast path from Marsh Retreat is an ideal way to lose yourself in this Area of Natural Beauty, with its salt marsh, creeks, sand dunes and of course its abundance of bird life and wildlife which makes this coastline so unique.
Perfectly proportioned and on one level, this wonderful retreat is a great choice for romantic weekends or longer stays. With spectacular views from every window, chill-out and relax in the open-plan living space which incorporates a well-equipped kitchen, stylish sitting room with dining area and cosy wood burning stove.
With a beautifully styled bedroom at the far end with a Super King size bed and sumptuous linens with soft as down pillows and duvet, you’ll be assured of a good nights sleep too.
From the small courtyard/terrace with its pagoda and barbecue, you can watch the waders as they feed on the marsh and marvel as the pink-footed geese fly overhead on their way to feed on the sugar beet fields.
On warmer days, dine alfresco and enjoy a sundowner or two, as the sun disappears beneath the horizon and make plans for the day ahead.

Brancaster is known for its simply stunning sandy beach. It stretches for miles backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club.
Walk to the left of the golf club house and you will find the seals that bask on the creek edges. Paddle in the tidal lagoons or walk for miles along the beach to where the shipwreck of the SS Vina. The beach is perfect for sunbathing and picnics (stock up at the village shop) and kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days.
A walk along the Norfolk coast path brings you to Brancaster Staithe which bustles with sailing fraternity when there’s a high tide, with sailing craft and boats crammed onto the hard. Home to Brancaster Staithe Sailing Club, you can also elect to book a boat trip with Branta Cruises and enjoy a day out at Scolt Head Island which is owned and run by the National Trust.
