With so many walks (head east to Cley-next-the-Sea and right to Kelling and Weybourne along the beach or coastal path), you may not need to get the car out once you've parked up, being that you also have a wonderful village pub, literally across the green.
Characterful and charming yet contemporary and stylish, this large and quirky luxury retreat is ideal for multi-generational families or a group of friends.
Being that there is are two downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms; one in the adjoining annexe where you’ll find a very spacious bedroom and bathroom with small kitchenette; and a downstairs bedroom and shower room in the main house which has amazing views straight out across the marsh to the sea.
Upstairs (the stairs are quite steep and narrow) you’ll discover two further bedrooms; a bunk room (with double bed beneath and single on top) and king-size bedroom; the latter of which has views of the sea and marsh. Both of these rooms share a beautiful bathroom with freestanding bath.
To the rear of the main house you’ll find a practical porch area for boots and coats and space for wiping down muddy paws.
From here you enter a lovely semi-vaulted kitchen/dining area with beautiful beams that is both sociable and practical with hard floors and a shaker-style kitchen, filled with everything you would need to cook whilst away on holiday. Within this area there is also a dining table and chairs plus a bench for inside dining.
The cosy, warm and spacious sitting room comes into its own during the winter months with its wood burning stove, and there are plenty of sofas and comfortable seating too, making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day walking or exploring.
The sitting room also offers opportunities to read, or simply watch the wildlife that lives on the marsh and there are binoculars available for you to make the most of this property’s spectacular location.
On long summer days enjoy dining outside in the peaceful south-facing garden on the large terrace, or on sunny mornings, take breakfast on the front terrace overlooking the sea.
Salthouse still remains fairly undiscovered but this wonderfully unspoilt coastal village which also boasts a beautiful church sat high on the hill and clusters of flint and brick cottages, is located right on the North Norfolk Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It is an ideal location for exploring the whole of the coast including Kelling, Weybourne, Sheringham and Cromer to the east and the pretty villages of Cley-next-the-Sea, Wiveton, Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea to the west, which are only a short drive away.
If you don’t want to drive, then catch the Coast Hopper bus which travels backwards and forwards along the coast road.
Head to Holkham for enjoy probably the best beach in the area and the pinewoods and the deer park, or Wells-next-the-Sea where you will adore the pretty beach huts and where there is even a dog-friendly beach café where your four-legged friend will appreciate the dog menu choices!
