A fabulous holiday cottage only a few minutes’ walk from the Quayside and just a stroll from the picturesque Buttlands green in the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea.
1 Honeymoon Row is a charming 300-year-old end terrace holiday cottage with a pretty, sunny enclosed garden.
This delightful character cottage now has full central heating and double glazing, as well as a newly fitted dining kitchen overlooking the garden.
The sitting room is cosy and comfortable, with a large gas ‘stove’, and just invites relaxation at the end of an active day out and about exploring.
Steep Norfolk winder stairs (there is a twisted grab rail top to bottom) lead to the first floor with two bedrooms, both of which have comfy double beds, and a smart bathroom..
Originally a warehouse, Honeymoon Row was used as a temporary home to the Fisher Theatre Company at the turn of the 18/19th century. The gentle incline of the Row suggests that No. 1 was used as the stage area. By 1816 the building had been converted into a row of terraced cottages.
The cottage is good for a family of four and big enough for two couples, but also ideal for someone staying on their own who wants to retreat to a quiet, private space while having all the local amenities only a short walk away.
There is free parking available on the Buttlands, just two minutes’ walk away, or at the bottom of the High Street, off Church Plain, one minute walk from the cottage.
There is no direct vehicle access to the cottage.
Beautiful and cosy cottage. Ideally located for the beach, shops and surrounding attractions. After fun-packed days crabbing, seal trips and Holkham Hall, beach and bike rides, it was a pleasure to return to such a well-equipped cottage and garden. We will be sad to leave and will recommend to freinds.
